Six Lairds a-leaping

If there was a more joyous moment in the 2011 postseason than Gerald Laird’s graceless leap at the end of Game 6, I can’t remember it—and now the clever folks at Viva El Birdos have turned Laird’s moment of glory into a Photoshop meme that might just get me through till spring training.

I’m pretty slow on the Photoshop, but creating Laird art seemed far preferable to doing any meaningful work this morning, so here are my half-dozen inaugural efforts, which draw upon artistic influences ranging from Dutch masters to Diane Arbus to my family’s Christmas-dinner photo:
